Doomy wanted to see:
1. My cookbooks - I had to take several pictures in order to capture the magnitude. Here they are, top shelf to bottom.

2. My makeup drawer/bag/case - I'm so ashamed. It's just this box with everything thrown in willy-nilly and largely ignored. I rarely bother with makeup anymore. As soon as I figure out a new storage solution in my bathroom there'll be more room for something presentable. I do have an idea that involved empty Biore facial wipes cases.

3. My computer area, where I sit and write and chat with the Americans so many miles and hours away - You mean my living room sofa? Where I'm pretty much always sitting unless I'm in bed? Here it is! I just bought the coffee table today. It is FHUGE. When not taking a picture of it, I am normally perched on the sofa with my feet up on the table and the cats spread out on my belly. The window above the sofa has a wide ledge and bars and the cats spend many hours there, checking out the neighbourhood cats and spying on my neighbours.

Wow, that's a real purdy Stila palette you've got there.
Posted by: Highwaygirl at November 4, 2005 12:17 PMYeah, it somehow just materialized there one day. I must have a guardian angel out there somewhere ;).
Posted by: rappy at November 4, 2005 12:25 PMYay, thanks doll! And also...wow. I mean, I knew you had a lot of cookbooks which is why I asked to see them, but *damn*. Do you have a favorite or, maybe more realistic, a top 5?
Posted by: Dinah (Doom) at November 4, 2005 01:00 PMThe Donna Hay books shown on the end of third shelf and the Nigella Lawsons, on the end of the second shelf.
Donna Hay for the beautiful (stunning, even) styling, and Nigella for the fantastic conversational writing style. I do have to say that I found Feast, her latest book, completely unappealing both visually and content wise.
Shockingly, I cook very little, so mostly they all sit there looking pretty.
Posted by: rappy at November 4, 2005 01:08 PMThere is something about cookbooks that are so appealing. Your collection is really impressive.
I like your sofa 'workstation' and it's kitty adornment.
Dude, rappy, is that the IKEA coffee table you just put together? My mom has the SAME EXACT ONE! Same color and everything! Woot!
Posted by: Teem at November 4, 2005 04:01 PMIt is! And I put it together with no instructions, because Ikea didn't think I needed them!
I suspect MANY people have the exact same table tough, so I'm considering painting it.
