I'm not doing too well with my quest to read 150 books within my 1001 days. I currently stand at 30 books (almost - there are two on that list that I'm half way through on) and I have about a year and a half left to go.
This is where I turn to you. Any recommendations? Anything I must read? Would love reading? Would get through super-quickly on my way to completing this formidable task?
Help!

Posted by: mudda at March 6, 2006 09:24 PMI didn't see Life of Pi on your reading list - if you haven't read it, this may be a good addition. I read it in one sitting I think.
Posted by: noorster at March 7, 2006 11:49 AMHave you kept a list of what you've read so far? Anything you really loved or really didn't? I think your best option for this project would be to find an author, make a list of the books by that person you haven't read, then go on a tear. That way you have a short list of authors, but each one can have, like, 5 books attached.
I've been inspired by the movie to read some Truman Capote, so my next two books are Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood. And then there are some classics I want to catch up on. And I need to finish the Ellis my friend lent me, but I don't know if I've recovered from American Psycho yet. *shudder* I do NOT recommend that one.

Noorster, I keep picking it up and putting it down at the store. I don't know that it's the kind of book I'd enjoy, but I'll see if I can borrow it from someone.
I've actually read about 4 books in the last couple of weeks. I finally put down Kavalier and Clay, which I'd been plodding through for MONTHS at the expense of other books, so maybe the pace will speed up.
