After cheering M on at several marathons and a couple of ultramarathons (there's a huge one coming up, report once it's over), I finally joined him as a race finisher. I ran a 5k race on Friday in a small town about 20 minutes from where we live. The field was small and I think I came in 3rd last, but I finished it all the same, so yay me!

And no, there will be no photographic evidence of this task. You'll just have to trust me that I did it, mmmkay?

My official time was 29:43 and I *did* come in 3rd in my age category. The entire field was 37. There were probably only 3 people in my age category ;).
Alison, the tentative plan is to run the 10k held during the Munich marathon in mid-October. I sense I'll be able to better blend into the field in that one, plus I'll probably have a few more cheerleaders along the way.
