Happy new year!
Or maybe I'll acknowledge the fact that a fair bit has happened since I last wrote. For starters, I no longer live in Germany, having moved to England in the summer of 2010. Contrary to overwhelming assumption, London is not the whole of England and I do not live in it, but rather in a small town called Preston in England's northwest just north of Manchester and Liverpool, and a stone's throw away from Blackpool (though I don't like to admit that, since the place literally gives me hives). We're here for at least the next couple of years while M is on secondment at a nearby aviation company (which sells evil things that kill people, but pays really nicely).
I'm currently wallowing in the midst of both unemployment and visa trouble, unable to find work even if I did have a visa to enable me to do so. The latter should be resolved in the next few months, the former... who knows. In the meantime I keep myself entertained by going into town with a friend (so far my only friend, woe is me) a couple of times a week to return things to Next (she) and to have a cup of coffee. In a couple of weeks I'll be starting some classes (sewing and watercolour drawing) to keep myself busy and prevent me from descending into a life of crime.
For those wondering about the cats - all present and accounted for, still fighting like cats and... cats.
My new year's resolutions this year are:
1) Swear less (well, initially to not swear at all but I've kind of missed the boat on that).
2) Stop using so many parentheses (though I do love me some parentheses)(Stop it!)(Can't!)(Anyway).
3) Post more than twice before forgetting all about this place.
4) Go to the gym at least once.
So for those of you reading (hi, lifey!), anything in particular you'd like to hear about in this here space?
